According to the vice-chancellor for research and technology of the university, only four of the country's medical universities are in this area, and universities such as Iran, Shahid Beheshti, Mashhad, and Kerman are ranked 301-500 globally.
Dr. Najafi affirmed: this classification includes indicators such as the number of PubMed and ISI articles, number of citations, percentage of international articles and the articles published in 20% top journals.

With the announcement of the results of research evaluation of universities of medical sciences in the country by the vice-chancellor for research and technology of the ministry of health and medical education, Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences won the first rank of research and the first rank of science production among the type-two universities in the country by publishing 1032 articles in reputable international journals.
